Kony 2012, our education system and economic system.

You may have heard about the "Kony 2012" campaign?

Kony 2012 is the title of a campaign launched by the organization Invisible Children Inc., focused for now on the half hour video of the same name, which has had a viral diffusion on the internet reaching in a few days almost one hundred million views (it was published only on the 5th March). The campaign aims at supporting the arrest of Joseph Kony, an Ugandan guerrilla leader accused of “crimes against humanity” by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

It is clearly explained in many articles the doubtful aspect of this campaign and the possible connection of this organization to goals not at all related to saving children in Uganda.

We should save ALL the children and stop ALL those abuser of the world, but is this the solution?

Like Jean Ziegler explained in his latest book: Betting on Famine: Why the World Still Goes Hungry
Jean Ziegler, U.N. special rapporteur on the right to food, alerted the more than 500 delegates that while 854 million people went without food in the world last year, enough food was produced to feed 12 billion people. "This is why a child that dies from famine is murder," Ziegler said. The prices of corn, rice and wheat are literally exploding because of market speculation on the basic commodities.
So you see, there a more urgent problems in the world caused by the speculation on many things, the world economies are about to explode because of speculation out of control, why is the world focusing on this "campaign"?

Here's some samples articles from serious and reputable sources:

Beyond “Kony 2012”. What is Happening in Uganda? America's "Invisible" Military Agenda by Daniele Scalea
The United States has intervened in Uganda within the framework of increased militarization in its relationship with the continent, made necessary by the political and trading penetration of China in Africa.

The sending of military advisers to Museveni, possibly a prelude to military escalation (maybe what the Kony 2012 viral campaign wants to achieve?), is to be taken in conjunction with drone bombardments in Somalia, intervention in Libya to overthrow Gaddafi, French intervention in Ivory Coast to depose Gbagbo. Julien Teil’s documentary The Humanitarian War has shown the role, not too clear, of NGOs in preparing the ground for NATO intervention in Libya.

Invisible Children emphasizes the need to send US troops to Uganda at a time when the LRA seems weakened and, according to many people, Kony hasn’t been in the country for years. At this point it does not seem rash to include also Kony 2012 in the arsenal of US soft power that should support the spread – not necessarily in a peaceful way – of Washington’s influence in Africa.

Democracy now: Kony 2012: Ugandans Criticize Popular Video for Backing U.S. Military Intervention in Central Africa

The relationship between Invisible Children and the U.S. government and the Ugandan regime disturbed me a lot. And we started doing more investigation and more research, and that’s how we came out with the revelation that the U.S. ambassador to Uganda in 2009 had actually written a cable, which was revealed through WikiLeaks, in February 2009, indicating that Invisible Children had approached the U.S. embassy and made it known to them that they were going to be conducting campaigns that would advocate and promote the military solution. That was one of the memos.

A second memo, which was actually much more disturbing, said that Invisible Children had provided a tip to Ugandan intelligence services, leading to the arrest of a suspected regime opponent. This suspected regime opponent used to be a child soldier, as well, and had been taken under the care of Invisible Children and was, in fact, staying at one of their facilities in Uganda. He was arrested. And as many people familiar with Uganda know, people that are arrested by intelligence services in Uganda are subjected to torture. Subsequent to his arrest, nine other Ugandans were arrested, and now they face treason charges. And treason in Uganda is punishable by the death penalty.

So the relationship between Invisible Children does not seem to be independent. It seems to be involved in line with the U.S. administration and the Ugandan regime in advocating and pushing the military solution as the only approach, and disregarding the voices of Ugandans such as Bishop Odama, Bishop Ochola, who come from the war-affected region, who have been pushing the resumption of a negotiated solution to this war.
This web site: World Under Control - Helping to expose corruption by the global elite, one truth at a time: have many interesting links and article to debunk this campaign:

All this make me ANGRY and think that there is something wrong with our education system.  I have seen my local school and many kids involved in this campaigns using emotions in the movie to indoctrinate them.

You then wonder why are we here, why are so many of us "buy" this stuff without asking any hard questions, without being critical and skeptics?

Go read this article on education:
The Purpose of Education: Social Uplift or Social Control? - The Path to Deconstructing Democracy
Fichte laid it down that education should aim at destroying free will, so that, after pupils have left school, they shall be incapable, throughout the rest of their lives, of thinking or acting otherwise than as their schoolmasters would have wished.
Wake up people. There are better way of helping Africa.

How much bailout money was spent and what is the impact on workers

When Obama allowed to bail-out banks at a excess of 3 trillions dollar for institution that gambled, instead of let them fail and reform a system doom to fail, he has put more than 22 thousand dollars more debt on all 140 thousands workers.

We would have to extract 5% of the average salary of all US workers for almost 10 years just to pay for this one pass bailout.

What a mess!

USA: 30 millions unemployed

Economist Leo Hindery, Jr. took aim at the Obama Administration's lies, and Tim Geithner specifically, in the Aug. 17 Huffington Post, declaring:

  • The U.S. unemployment rate is now 18.3%, not 9.5%;
  • The number of real unemployed workers in all four categories of unemployment is 29.3 million, not Obama's 14.6 million figure;
  • Since Obama took office, the number of real unemployed workers has increased by 4.6 million. The economy needs to add about 150,000 new jobs each month just to keep up with population growth;
  • In real terms, the jobs gap is 21.3 million new jobs. Source

How not to save the environment

Here are some example of how not to save the environment. We often hear "special groups" pushing for projects that would "save" the environment.  Here's some information to make you see the big picture.

While you read this, remind yourself that for every dollar spent, 80% of it is spent on fossil fuels.  Why you ask?  For every dollar we consume, we need energy in one form or another to produce it.  Calculating where the energy is coming from we come to the conclusion that around 80% or more comes for oil, gas, coal.

The Danish government plans to clear forests and destroy unique nature for the benefit of industry. Source
The Danish environment minister Troels Lund Poulsen decided, on behalf of the government, on 30th September 2009, that the clearing of 15 km2 of forest in the north west of Denmark will take place. A test centre for the development of offshore windmills is planned to take up 30 km2 of land in the Thy region, near Østerild. This deforestation will create an increase of 400,000 tonnes of CO2 emission, the equivalent of the CO2 emission of 100,000 people per year.

The windmills, which are 250 meters tall, are planned to be along a 6 km linear south/north stretch. This will prevent birds in the international Ramsar-area, Vejlerne, which is situated to the east of the test centre, from flying west to the EU-habitat area Vullum Sø and to Thy National Park just south of Hanstholm.

I often demonstrated that windmills are not the way to go for a good energy policy and surely not to save the environment. Other examples

Spain is still suffering for the "green" energy policies imposed by "special groups" that pushes those "renewable" energy sources. Complete report

A leaked internal document from the Spanish government shows the catastrophic effect of the "green" policies on energy cost and the economy.
The internal report of the Spanish administration admits that the price of electricity has gone up, as well as the debt, due to the extra costs of solar and wind energy. Even the government numbers indicate that each green job created costs more than 2.2 traditional jobs, as was shown in the report of the Juan de Mariana Institute.

The numbers in the long run are even scarier. The government itself says that the alternative energies sector will receive 126 billion euros in the next 25 years. Just an example: The owners of solar plants make 12 times more than what they pay for the energy coming from fossil fuel combustion. The majority are subsidies charged to the consumer. The conclusion is that with the economy at the point of bankruptcy, it is not possible to keep injecting money in such a costly sector. And the government seems to realize this now.

Follow the money
Joanne Nova documented extensively the link between those "green" policies and the greed of some people wanting to make a money on the environmental fears artificially created for that purpose.

Some example from JoNova
The smell of money
Who would have thought? Goldman Sachs has been working hard to save the environment for years. Generation Investment Management (GIM) was founded by Al Gore, and a few friends, which included David Blood (former Goldman executive), Mark Ferguson (Goldman) and Peter Harris (Goldman). They are the fifth largest shareholder in the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). Then in 2006, when the CCX needed some extra funding, who should step up to buy 10% of the company – Goldman Sachs.

CLIMATE MONEY
The Climate Industry: $79 billion so far – trillions to come
The US government has spent over $79 billion since 1989 on policies related to climate change, including science and technology research, administration, education campaigns, foreign aid, and tax breaks.

Carbon trading worldwide reached $126 billion in 2008. Banks are calling for more carbon-trading. And experts are predicting the carbon market will reach $2 - $10 trillion making carbon the largest single commodity traded.

$30 Billion makes for Monopolistic Science
  • A trial without a defense is a sham
  • Business without competition is a monopoly
  • Science without debate is propaganda
The scientific process has become distorted. One side of a theory receives billions, but the other side is so poorly funded that auditing of that research is left as a community service project for people with expert skills, a thick skin and a passionate interest. A kind of “Adopt an Error” approach.

Inside The Great American Bubble Machine - Goldman Sachs

This all smells like deep corruptions inside government and companies, included here are small excerpt from an interview with Matt Taibbi at democracy now, who wrote the article in Rolling Stones magazine. Make sure you follow the links below.

Source1, Source2 (with video)

Goldman Sachs, the nation’s most powerful financial company, has reported the richest quarterly profit in its 140-year history: $3.44 billion between April and June. Goldman’s record profits come just one month after it repaid $10 billion of TARP money to the US Treasury, freeing itself from restrictions on year-end bonuses. We speak to Matt Taibbi, whose new Rolling Stone article argues that “Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since the Great Depression.”

What’s interesting about that is that the guy who is now the president of the New York Fed, Dudley, is another former Goldman Sachs banker

Goldman Sachs is positioned in a number of different ways. They are a part owner of the Chicago Climate Exchange, which is where the carbon credits will be traded if this legislation goes through. They’re also heavily invested in a number of companies that deal in carbon credits. And again, this is another kind of commodities market, like the oil commodities market, which exploded last summer and is exploding again now. And Goldman and banks like Morgan Stanley are poised to make an enormous amount of money if these carbon credits end up getting traded

Goldman was able to appeal to its former chief, Hank Paulson in the Treasury, who engineered an $80 billion taxpayer-funded bailout of AIG, and immediately about 13 billion or 14 billion of those dollars went directly to Goldman Sachs. So this was really Goldman Sachs bailing out Goldman Sachs in the middle of the bailout.

What you need to know is the big picture: If America is circling the drain, Goldman Sachs has found a way to be that drain — an extremely unfortunate loophole in the system of Western democratic capitalism, which never foresaw that in a society governed passively by free markets and free elections, organized greed always defeats disorganized democracy.

  • d'une part d'agir de pivot pour les systèmes de transactions monétaires internationales ;

“Allow me to issue and control a nation’s currency, and I care not who makes its laws.”

Here's what Roosevelt had to say about banking bailouts on March 4, 1933:

"The rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed, through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and abdicated. Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men.

'THEY HAVE NO VISION'

"True they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence. They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers. They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.

"The money changers have fled from their high seats in the temple of our civilization. We may now restore that temple to the ancient truths. The measure of the restoration lies in the extent to which we apply social values more noble than mere monetary profit."

Let's start with some definitions:

Notional:
Speculative or theoretical
Derivatives:
(from wikipedia) are financial contracts, or financial instruments, whose values are derived from the value of something else (known as the underlying). The underlying on which a derivative is based can be an asset (eg commodities, equities (stocks), residential mortgages, commercial real estate, loans, bonds), an index (eg interest rates, exchange rates, stock market indices, consumer price index (CPI) — see inflation derivatives), or other items (eg weather conditions, or other derivatives). Credit derivatives are based on loans, bonds or other forms of credit.
OTC:
Over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives are contracts that are traded (and privately negotiated) directly between two parties, without going through an exchange or other intermediary. Products such as swaps, forward rate agreements, and exotic options are almost always traded in this way. The OTC derivative market is the largest market for derivatives, and is unregulated. According to the Bank for International Settlements, the total outstanding notional amount is $596 trillion (as of December 2007)[2]. Of this total notional amount, 66% are interest rate contracts, 10% are credit default swaps (CDS), 9% are foreign exchange contracts, 2% are commodity contracts, 1% are equity contracts, and 12% are other. OTC derivatives are largely subject to counterparty risk, as the validity of a contract depends on the counterparty's solvency and ability to honor its obligations.
BIS Bank for International Settlements
  • The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is an international organisation which fosters international monetary and financial cooperation and serves as a bank for central banks.
  • Currently more than 5,000 senior executives and officials from central banks and supervisory agencies participate in meetings organised by the BIS every year.
  • Other meetings of senior central bank officials focus on the conduct of monetary policy, the surveillance of international financial markets and central bank governance issues.

According to the BIS, the notional amounts outstanding and gross market values for derivatives in June 2008 (total contracts) is 683,725 billions of US dollars. This is 683 725 000 millions or 683 725 000 000 000 US dollars. To put this in perspective, this is equivalent to:
  • 11.4 million schools of 2000 students or schools for 22.8 billion people. We are 6.8 billion now. We could multiply this number by 6 since we spend around 1/6 of our life in school.
  • We could build 27 million km of MagLev train or enough to circle the earth 682 times.
  • We as Canadian, spend on average 14kW of energy in real time, all sources included. Since a kW/h cost around 0,07$, we than need around 1$ per hour of energy or 8760$ per year or for an average lifespan of 80 years, it would cost around 700,800$. If you take that big number of derivatives, we could supply all the energy needed for a long life to 975,634,988 people or 975 million people.
  • According to many studies, the amount in dollar of infrastructure is equal to 4x the GDP of a country. The world GDP is around 65, 000 billion. That give a total world infrastructure value of 260,000 billion.
So the amount of derivative is:
  • 10x the total GDP of the world or
  • 2.6X the total amount of infrastructure of the world, this include your house and car.
This give you an idea of the size of the speculative (notional) bubble, and it is now easy to understand that this bubble will never be bailed out. It is physically impossible to bail out this bubble.
